How much gas do I have left?

When you lift the lid of your tank you will see a round gauge about 2” in diameter. The needle will point to the amount (percent, not gallons) you have left.

Propane Safety

If you smell gas, you should immediately put out all smoking materials and any open flames. In addition, don't operate any cell phones, land line telephones, lights or appliances as sparks or flames from these devices may cause an explosion or fire. Whenever you smell propane gas that you think might be leaking, you need to immediately leave the area and evacuate the area or building where you suspect that gas might be leaking. Once you've left the area, you should try to shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank, if it is safe to do so.

When you have exited the area and are a safe distance from the source of the gas smell, you should immediately report the leak from a neighbor's home or other nearby safe location by calling Covington Propane Company immediately. If you can't reach your propane retailer, call 911 or your local fire department immediately. Above all, do not re-enter the building until your propane retailer or the local fire department has determined that it is ok to do so.

Finally, you should always have a trained and qualified service technician from your local propane retailer perform a complete system check and any of your propane appliances to make sure the remain completely leak-free before you attempt to use any of them.
